Synopsis
The screenplay is based on a story of a noted female writer. She earns a very good name as a prolific Bengali writer in Bangladesh and in West Bengal (India). When she was a child, she was raised in a shanty foster-home-type place with her lonesome mother. Being deserted by her father, her mother was in a terrible life-struggle for eking out a living. The irony of the fact, the female writer herself was sexually abused at her teen-age. She develops some psychosomatic-abnormalities since then. Being engrossed, preoccupied and dejected, she becomes a morbid character. She loses all her interest in life and she can’t stand any man. The reality of life made her tiring and lonely, she started writing. As a result, she came up as a successful writer. Once in monsoon time, an art film maker comes to her life. He asks for making of his film with her story. This opens them up to get closer with each other sharing of ideas, emotions and afflictions, stories of love, dream, wound and woo of losing heart. In personal life, the film maker was a betrayed guy. Eventually, the female writer happened to meet an activist of fanatic Naksal Group in West Bengal who was a clean murderer. Also, she got introduced with a girl child and her mother. On the other hand, being basically honest, the young film maker makes his mind to proceed in making of the film by his own. Clearly, he caught in a dilemma – he can neither grab money from her former lover, nor can go for pirated plots and become a commercial film maker of the sort. His lost love is now an affluent housewife in dire needs of children – abominably seeking ways to have a baby. In a mood to ask for any help for a baby, she (the former lover) persuades the film maker to donate seed of life in her womb. One aged person is seen in the city streets carrying a revolver under his chador (warm wrapper used during winter). Long ago, he left his family and children and came in the streets with an ideology that is best known only to himself. Once in a blue moon, the young film maker tries to convince the female writer that it’s nothing but an illusion. All the bookish characters are, now, dead and gone. Nobody is alive here. But, in reality, being obsessed and preoccupied with an illusion, she goes on carrying the ghost images of all the characters in the back of her mind. In turn, those eclectic characters narrated by the female writer come live to the film maker. He gets to know that it’s also a kind of mental illness. It hurts the female writer too. As a result, she becomes a mental sufferer. However, one day the female writer is gradually convinced that – no character does exist and whatever the film maker says is true. In fact, to her, the film maker himself is one of those characters, and also she believes, he doesn’t exist. After odd five years, finally, she is able to write her novel and it is published one day. Only after consulting a psychiatrist, she got to know that she was mentally sick for last five years. Incidentally, a stranger-guy appears before her who resembles very closely to that film maker. But, finally, she fails to reach him. At night, however, an old man is seen strolling in streets with armed weapons, the Naksalite boy is allegedly being beaten and killed by assailants, in great despair – who knows for what, one adolescent girl with her mother come to toddle across the thoroughfares in the township in the darkness of night. Spontaneously, the melodramas as live plots creep into our lives. The life permeates into another for more space like the rivers flow on to the seas. Life’s transactions never come to an end. The manuscripts are being prepared for the summer tales. People die in streets like fire-flies, and the life-struggle of people go on and on.
একজন প্রথিতযশা লেখিকা। দুই বাংলাতেই তার সুনাম রয়েছে। কিন্তু গত ৫ বছরে সে আর কিছুই লিখতে পারেনি। শৈশবে নকশাল আন্দোলনে হারিয়ে যাওয়া বাবা’র অপেক্ষায় একলা মায়ের সংগ্রামেই বেড়ে উঠেছিল সে। কৈশোরেই যৌননির্যাতনের শিকার হওয়ায় কখনোই কোন পুরুষকে বিশ্বাস করতে পারেনি সে। জীবনবাস্তবতা তাকে এভাবেই করে তুলেছে একাকী, আর সেই একাকীত্ব থেকেই লেখিকাজীবন। একদিন এক বর্ষায় এক পোড়খাওয়া আর্টফিল্মের মেকার আসে তার উপন্যাস নিয়ে সিনেমা বানাবে এই প্রস্তাব নিয়ে। সেখান থেকেই শুরু হয় তাদের গল্প-প্রেম-স্বপ্ন-স্বপ্নভঙ্গ। মেয়েটির দেখা হয় এক তরুণ নকশালকর্মীর সঙ্গে, যে অনেকগুলো খুন করেছে। মেয়েটির দেখা হয় এক শিশুকন্যা ও তার মায়ের সঙ্গেও। ফিল্মমেকার তরুনটি ছবিটি বানাতে গিয়ে তার আইডিওলজি ঠিক রাখতে চায়, তাই পারে না প্রাক্তন প্রেমিকা যার এখন সংসার আছে, তার কাছ থেকে তার গর্ভে একটি সন্তান দান করার বিনিময়ে আর্থিক সহযোগিতা নিতে, না পারে চুরি করা গল্পের কমার্শিয়াল ছবি বানাতে। এক বৃদ্ধ ভদ্রলোককে এ শহরে দেখা যায়, তার চাদরের নীচে একটা রিভলবার লুকানো থাকে, যে অনেক আগেই স্ত্রী-সন্তানকে রেখে দলের প্রয়োজনে বের হয়ে এসেছিল। ফিল্মমেকার তরুনটি একদিন লেখিকাকে প্রমাণ করে যে, যতগুলো মানুষের গল্প লেখিকা তার কাছে করেছে, বাস্তবে তারা কেউ নেই, লেখিকার সৃষ্ট চরিত্রগুলোই তার কাছে জীবন্ত হয়ে ফিরে ফিরে আসে, এটা এক ধরণের মানসিক অসুস্থ্যতা। ব্যাপারটা লেখিকাকে পীড়া দেয়। কিন্তু লেখিকা একসময় উপলব্ধি করে যে, সেই ফিল্মমেকারের কথাই সত্য এবং সেই ফিল্মমেকারও আসলে তার নতুন উপন্যাসের একটি চরিত্রমাত্র, বাস্তবে সে নেই। ৫ বছর পরে লেখিকা সত্যিই উপন্যাস লিখতে পারে। সেটা একদিন প্রকাশিত হয়।এক মনোবিজ্ঞানীর কাছে গিয়ে লেখিকা জানতে পারে যে, সে ৫ বছর মানসিকভাবে অসুস্থ্য ছিল। লেখিকার একটি অনুষ্ঠানে একজন অনাহুত অতিথি আসে, অবিকল সেই ফিল্মমেকারের মত, কিন্তু তাকে কেউ দেখা করতে দেয় না। রাতের শহরে অস্ত্র হাতে সেই বৃদ্ধকে সত্যিই দেখা যায়, সেই নকশাল তরুণকে কেউ একজন গুলি করে মেরে ফেলে, গভীর রাতে এক কিশোরী কন্যা আর মা অসহায়ের মত রাস্তায় ঘুরে বেড়ায়। ব্যস্ত শহরে আরো নতুন নতুন গল্প তৈরি হতে থাকে নিয়ত ..
